痔瘡可伴隨肛門周圍腫塊、痕癢、疼痛或排便後鮮血，但出血亦可能有其他原因。不能只憑自己摸到腫塊或血的顏色便確定是痔瘡。Haemorrhoids may cause anal lumps, itching, discomfort or bright blood after a bowel movement, but bleeding has other possible causes. A lump or the colour of blood alone cannot confirm haemorrhoids.

可記錄出血是否與排便有關、疼痛及腫塊的變化，以及是否便秘。若持續或反覆出血應安排評估；大量或不停出血、嚴重疼痛或全身不適時，應立即求醫。Note whether bleeding relates to bowel movements, changes in pain or lumps, and constipation. Arrange assessment for persistent or recurring bleeding. Seek immediate help for heavy or continuing bleeding, severe pain or feeling seriously unwell.
